Spain returns to the field after the disappointment of the Olympic Games. The women's world football champion will play again on the 25th against Canada in Badajoz, and on the 29th against Italy in Vicenza, in two friendly matches where Montse Tomé leaves the door open to a small revolution after the fiasco in Paris. More than two months after the setback against Brazil in Lyon, where La Roja left without a medal from an event where they were the top favorite for gold, the Asturian coach, renewed until 2025, offers a list this Thursday where some changes are expected. These will be two matches that will serve not only to gauge the mood of a group capable of winning anything but also to begin preparations for next year's European Championship in Switzerland.

A list that has not been well received by all the protagonists of national women's football. There is discontent in Real Madrid over the date set by the Federation to announce the names, just hours before a key match for the Madrid team in the UEFA Women's Champions League against Celtic FC. Criticism has arisen from the white club, with their women's team coach, Alberto Toril, leading the complaints. "There are two ways to do things: right or wrong. Announcing a list on the same day a Spanish team plays an important Champions match, where the players' focus should be on their club... It's not the time for the national team. The time for the national team is Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. Any day is good, but not Thursday," he criticized.

Given the friendly nature of the matches, changes are expected. It is a perfect scenario for trials, and also due to the need to seek a boost. One of the surprises could be the return of goalkeeper Lola Gallardo from Atlético de Madrid. Absent from the national team since she was one of 'the 15' who signed the letter against the previous technical staff, the red-and-white goalkeeper was decisive last weekend in the derby against Real Madrid. She is not the only one of those once sidelined who could return to the group. It happened before the summer and at the Games to Patri Guijarro, who was at the Olympic tournament witnessing from the stands in France Claudia Pina. Little by little, 'the 15' are reintegrating, although some names remain.

The list coincides with the November documentary on Netflix about #SeAcabó after the platform unveiled the trailer for the film this Wednesday. A minute and a half that left no one indifferent. "For me, it was a broken group. It seemed like we had to win to annoy the others," reveals Laia Codina, center-back for La Roja and Arsenal, recalling the conflict of 'the 15' - who asked not to return to the national team due to their emotional and health state - with the FEF. Following the defender's words are those of Irene Paredes: "We have lived and fought for every ball, on and off the field." For a time, the Barça center-back disappeared from the call-ups of then-coach Jorge Vilda.

"They didn't bet on us nor did they care about us," highlights Aitana Bonmatí, the current best player in the world after winning the latest Ballon d'Or. Following her words, the documentary reproduces some of the most opposing voices to the players: "A tantrum of 15, with all due respect, little girls."
