Continuity is the theme for the final squad list of the Spanish women's national team for the Euro Cup in Switzerland, taking place from July 2 to 27. Montse Tomé is sticking with the core of recent call-ups, excluding Jenni Hermoso and Misa Rodríguez. The squad features a strong Barcelona presence, with ten players from the club, which has dominated national competitions but missed out on the Champions League this season.

Twenty-three of the 25 internationals who recently secured a spot in the Nations League Final Four are returning, with defenders Sheila García and Laia Codina being left out. The leadership of the last four Ballon d'Or winners, Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas, stands out, alongside Patri Guijarro, forming an exceptional midfield. The attack is equally impressive, with Mariona, a European champion with Arsenal, the rising talent of Salma Paralluelo, and the scoring prowess of Claudia Pina, known for her impact off the bench.

The Spanish team's training camp for the Euro Cup will begin on June 19 at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, without many internationals who played in the Copa de la Reina final between Barça and Atlético last Saturday. On June 27, Spain will face Japan in a preparatory match in Butarque, a challenging opponent. On Sunday, June 29, the Spanish squad will travel to Switzerland, the tournament's host country.

The Spanish team, reigning World Cup and Nations League champions, aims to claim the European crown for the first time and achieve a remarkable triple crown. Montse Tomé's squad will debut on July 3 in Bern against Portugal, whom they have defeated in their previous three encounters. They will then play Belgium on July 7 in Thun, having beaten them twice on the road to the Euro Cup. Italy, their opponent in the third match on July 11 in Bern, is expected to be the toughest challenge on the way to the quarter-finals.

If Spain secures a spot in the knockout stage, they seem to have a relatively easy path, facing one of the two qualifiers from Group A, which includes host Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Finland. This means Spain avoids heavyweights like England, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, or France until the semi-finals.
