Monóvar requests €500,000 grant to modernise El Pastoret Industrial Estate

Monóvar is committed to revitalising its industrial sector. The town council has applied to the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) for a €500,000 grant to modernise the El Pastoret Industrial Estate. If approved, the funds will be used to enhance the security, accessibility, and sustainability of the estate. Additionally, an extra €9,000 will be requested to assess the feasibility of establishing a future energy community in this industrial area.

The modernisation plan also includes support measures for local businesses through the acquisition of an industrial warehouse, which will be converted into a multipurpose centre. This facility will feature coworking spaces and meeting rooms available to local businesses, and will also house the operational headquarters of the Estate Management and Modernisation Entity (EGM). Furthermore, the plan aims to improve mobility by renovating pavements and access routes to facilitate movement for both pedestrians and vehicles.

The Councillor for Industry, María Amparo Maestre, emphasised that these initiatives aim to "revitalise the industrial estate by providing better services, more sustainable infrastructures, and tools to boost business cooperation." She added that the plan launched by the Town Council "allows for a decisive step towards the energy transition in the industrial sector."

Regarding the potential creation of a local energy community in the industrial area, the Department of Industry intends to study its feasibility with another €9,000 grant from IVACE. As explained by the councillor, the establishment of this energy community "will promote the shared use of renewable energies to advance towards a more efficient, sustainable, and self-sufficient energy model."
