Monforte del Cid Launches Grape Bag Collection Service to Promote Reuse

Monforte del Cid has once again initiated the grape bag collection service starting this Tuesday, August 27th, as announced by the town's mayor through his Facebook account. The launch has been moved up a week this year, 2024, to meet the needs of the farmers.

During the grape campaign, which lasts approximately four months, farmers can bring their grape protective bags to Avenida Rojo Alicante, 19 between 6 PM and 8 PM.

The aim of the service is to allow for the recycling and disposal of this material, preventing environmental pollution and protecting the fields. Burning these bags is not only dangerous for the crops but also poses a risk to citizens.

The Monforte del Cid Town Hall is once again offering this free service to local farmers, investing over €18,000 in a waste management contract.

Hernández emphasized that "we have always been attentive to the needs of farmers, such as repairing road infrastructures and supporting their demands and claims. This year, due to farmers' requests, the service has been launched earlier."
