Mitsubishi has a major product offensive planned for Europe in the coming years. The most interesting are two new SUV models belonging to the C segment, the largest volume market, which will be launched in 2025. In detail, one will be a 100% electric SUV (BEV), marking Mitsubishi's first vehicle of this kind in Europe since the brand produced the world's first electric vehicle from a major manufacturer, the i-MiEV in 2010. Joining it is a new SUV model featuring micro-hybrid gasoline engines (MHEV) and self-charging hybrids (HEV).
The introduction of these two vehicles in 2025, following the launch of the COLT and ASX in 2023, and the presentation of the brand's flagship, the Outlander PHEV, in 2024, will raise the total number of completely new model launches to five in the period from 2023 to 2025.
Together with the Outlander PHEV, these two SUVs form the backbone of a highly competitive range of electrified SUV models, incorporating fully electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and self-charging hybrid (HEV) propulsion systems of the latest generation, all equipped with the most advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and Google Built-in for unparalleled connectivity.
"With this dual approach to Europe's largest segment (SUV-C), we will offer a complete range of electrified propulsion systems to cover a wide range of price ranges and customer requirements," said Frank Krol, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Europe. "Adding to this the full suite of ADAS technologies and Google's integrated connectivity, Mitsubishi Motors is ready to take another step towards the mobility of the future," he added.
Meanwhile, Manuel Salvadores, General Manager of Mitsubishi in Spain, added that "the arrival of these two new models will mark a milestone in our expansion and consolidation strategy in Spain, where we have a solid network of dealerships that has been fundamental to our success, and we continue to rely on them not only to bring these vehicles to the public but also to face together the challenges and opportunities that the future holds for us."
