Miraculous Survival After Plunging 15 Metres in Car from AP-7 Bridge

Firefighters rescued the victim, who was then transported to hospital in serious condition by paramedics.

A man miraculously survived after plunging 15 metres in his car from a bridge at kilometre 617 of the AP-7, near Gata de Gorgos, on the afternoon of Thursday, 2nd December, according to the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium.

According to the Consortium, the driver veered off the road after hitting the median and fell approximately 15 metres. After freeing the injured man, the emergency services lifted him on a stretcher to the road, where a unit from the Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) was waiting to transport him to the hospital in serious condition. The alert was raised at 14:58, and the operation concluded at 16:52.

To assist the injured driver, the Provincial Firefighters Consortium dispatched a command unit (UMJ), a heavy urban pump (BUP), and a rescue van with a sergeant, a corporal, and six firefighters from the Dénia and Benissa stations.
