Miraculous Rescue in an Alicante Municipality: Three Dogs Saved from Near Death

The Local Police have saved three small dogs from certain death, found trapped at the bottom of a pit, half-buried in mud, in the Alicante municipality of El Campello. The officers discovered them this week as the animals struggled for survival, with mud covering most of their bodies, barely able to keep their heads above to breathe.

The officers, not without difficulty, managed to extract them from the mire and bring them to safety without any harm. The dogs were terrified, even attempting to bite the hands of those who became their guardians.

"There are times when professional work is especially rewarding," police sources emphasize. The acting personnel were unaware of how long the three puppies had been trapped, although they showed clear signs of hypothermia.

The two smaller ones were restless and aggressive, particularly when the officer entered the pit to assist them. The rescue was eventually successful, and they were placed in the Citizen Attention van to be taken to the Local Police Headquarters, where they were fed and given fresh water, the same sources detail.

At the facilities, it was found that one of the dogs had an identification chip, allowing the owner to be located. The owner, who was traveling, was surprised and concerned upon hearing the news. He claimed that his pet had probably escaped from the field where it lives and immediately alerted his son to take charge of the animal. The dog, according to police sources, was up to date with vaccinations.

The other two dogs, Dachshund mixes, did not have chips, so the Animal Protection Society was notified to transfer them to the shelter.
