The mother of the alleged murderer of the taxi driver in Alcalá de Henares was the one who betrayed her son after seeing his photograph circulating on social media. This happened after a taxi association made it public through social networks. The mother alerted the police, who set up a watch outside the family home where the teenager was hiding. The officers and the mother remained in contact at all times.

The minor, aged 16, who was brought before the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office on Thursday afternoon, was arrested on Wednesday night for the homicide of Isidro, aged 62. He fatally stabbed him on Tuesday after getting into his vehicle and staying in it for an hour and a half, in a strange journey that took them through three points in Alcalá.

Hundreds of taxi drivers from Madrid municipalities, residents, and political authorities gathered on Thursday for five minutes of silence in Cervantes Square in Alcalá to express their outrage over the murder. The president of Radio Taxi Alcalá, Javier Delgado, expressed his dismay at the homicide. "There was no argument or robbery of any kind. It makes no sense to take someone's life like this, on a whim," he stated.

Investigators rule out that the cause of the murder was related to youth gangs, although the teenager was indeed problematic and had caused disturbances and other violent incidents, according to some residents of Alcalá.

The events occurred on Tuesday afternoon. At 6:30 PM, the minor got into the taxi on Avenida de los Reyes Católicos. They then went to the El Camino del Sueño urbanization, where he said he "had an appointment with a man," and ended up in the parking lot of the Príncipe de Asturias hospital. The journey was recorded by the taxi's security camera, and the images show that Isidro wanted to help the supposed client and eventually took out the card reader to charge the fare. Then, without any argument, the murderer stabbed the taxi driver with a knife in the shoulder, chest, and abdomen.

"He has killed me, he has killed me!" shouted Isidro. Mortally wounded, he pressed the vehicle's emergency button, which connects to the police, and exited the vehicle, where he was attended to moments later by several hospital workers. The murderer escaped through the driver's door and hid in his family's house.
