Míchel Sánchez, the coach of Girona, has been urgently hospitalised due to a health issue and is under medical observation as a precaution, according to a statement released by the Catalan club this Friday.
Girona has explained that Míchel is "recovering well," receiving appropriate care, and will understandably not be able to lead his team in the league match this Saturday against Villarreal at Montilivi. The club wishes him a "speedy recovery" and appreciates the understanding and respect for the Madrid coach's privacy at this time.
Míchel himself reassured everyone with a new statement on his X profile. "I am writing these lines to inform you that, after a health setback, I will not be able to be on the bench on May 10th for the LaLiga match against Villarreal. After listening to the doctors' advice, to whom I am grateful for their care and professionalism, I need to take a few days to recover and return as soon as possible."
"I am feeling well, under medical observation, and already counting the days to return to work and continue fighting for the rest of the season. I am sure that this group, despite my absence, will give their all, as always, so that our people can feel proud of the club and the values it represents."
"I want to thank everyone for their expressions of affection, the messages from the Girona family, and all those who have been concerned about my situation. I will need to stay hospitalised, under observation, for a few days. I am obliged to follow the match from another location, but always in contact with my team. See you soon."
