Mette-Marit's son, Marius Borg, has had a tumultuous 2024, marked by several incidents involving his personal life. Before marrying Prince Haakon, Mette-Marit had Marius, who has faced multiple arrests for domestic altercations. After admitting to struggles with substance abuse, he entered a rehabilitation clinic in London. Recently, he left the facility to join his family in celebrating his 28th birthday.

According to the newspaper 'Seg og Hør', Marius was spotted last Sunday near Oslo-Gardermoen Airport, just a day before his birthday on Monday. Several passengers noticed him, with reports stating he was "the last passenger to leave the plane."

Currently, it is unclear how long Marius will stay in Norway. However, local media have revealed that he plans to visit Queen Sonia, who is recovering at home after a recent health scare that required urgent medical attention.
