Alicante bids farewell to Antonio Colomina Heredia, president of the Colonia Requena Neighbourhood Association and owner of the iconic El Loro bar, who passed away after failing to recover from a motorcycle accident last weekend.
Antonio Colomina was more than a neighbour; he was a cornerstone of the community. His dedication to the neighbourhood and commitment to community life led him to devote himself entirely to the welfare of his fellow citizens.

As president of the Colonia Requena Neighbourhood Association, Antonio became an indispensable figure in the neighbourhood movement of northern Alicante and the entire city. His work went beyond mere administrative management: he helped register residents, processed aid, and ensured no one was left unattended. His solidarity shone during the COVID-19 pandemic when he distributed food from his bar El Loro. In collaboration with Alicante Gastronómica and the Food Bank, they distributed hundreds of daily meals to needy families, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to service.
