Small relief for Carlo Ancelotti amidst the injury crisis affecting Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, and Brahim Díaz, who ended the match against Liverpool slightly injured, do not suffer any significant setbacks and will be available for the Italian coach for the match against Getafe this Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Although it seemed that the three mentioned players only had minor discomforts, they needed to undergo the necessary tests to confirm their presence against Getafe in a match corresponding to the fifteenth round of La Liga. The results were satisfactory in all three cases, providing a considerable relief for Carletto, who can count on three vital players in Real Madrid's offensive setup, especially during this part of the season when the team's medical room is full.
It should be noted that Dani Carvajal, Éder Militao, and David Alaba are still recovering from their respective anterior cruciate ligament tears, which will keep the first two out for the rest of the season and at least until January for the Austrian, who recently started ball work after his injury last December. This week, Vinicius and Camavinga also fell, both with biceps femoris tears that will keep them sidelined for several weeks. Meanwhile, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Rodrygo Goes are racing against time to be fit for the Getafe match, with more chances for the Brazilian forward. A perfect storm of injuries has severely depleted Real Madrid's squad, turning Ancelotti's line-ups into a real puzzle.
The Reggiolo coach was crossing his fingers that the discomforts of Mbappé, Bellingham, and Brahim were not serious, and with their confirmed presence against Getafe, he will have some room for manoeuvre when selecting the starting eleven.
The clash presents a new test for Mbappé, who was criticised after the Anfield match for one of his worst performances since joining Real Madrid. He lost possession fifteen times, completed only half of his three attempted dribbles, and missed the penalty that could have changed the course of the match against Liverpool, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the 'reds' and left Real Madrid in a precarious position in their favourite competition.
Mbappé will have a chance to redeem himself against Getafe, a team that already suffered from Jude Bellingham's prowess. The Englishman secured a last-minute victory for Real Madrid against the blue team at the Santiago Bernabéu a year ago, during his goal-scoring spree. He now approaches the match against José Bordalás's squad after scoring his first two goals of the current season against Osasuna and Leganés.
Brahim also arrives in good form, having scored five goals with Morocco during the last international break, and has made his way into Real Madrid's starting eleven due to the injuries affecting the team's offensive line.
