It was the first time that the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, met with the Royals outside Valencia following Their Majesties' two visits to the flood-affected areas. The arrival of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia at Fitur sparked great excitement among those present, not only at the stand of the Comunitat but throughout Pavilion 7.

A large crowd gathered around the President, who awaited Their Majesties alongside the Mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, the Tourism Councillor, Marián Cano, the President of the Alicante Provincial Council, Toni Pérez, and the Mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz. Those present even shouted "Long live the King" as he passed by the Generalitat's stand.

Once there, the King and Mazón shared a heartfelt handshake, and the head of the Consell presented them with a special gift, in memory of the DANA-affected areas that Their Majesties visited twice during the final stretch of last year.

These gifts were several artisanal fans crafted by companies affected by the flood. The President gifted one to each of them and also two for the Princesses Leonor and Sofia. The fan for King Felipe VI was made by Abanicos Muñoz and is composed of cotton and danta wood, while the Queen's is made of ebony and adorned with shiny studs and a ring, crafted by Abanicos Burriel.

These 14 artisanal fan workshops are located in Aldaia, where half of the companies in this sector affected by the flood are based. The disaster also damaged the 'palmito' museum, which housed specimens from the 18th and 19th centuries.
