Mazón and Sánchez to Meet on October 4th at Moncloa

The meeting between the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, will likely take place on October 4th at Moncloa. The head of the Consell had announced this Friday that a date has already been set for this meeting, in which Mazón intends to address the financing of the Valencian Community, dependency debt, and the Tajo-Segura transfer, among other issues.

Mazón has confirmed that he will attend the meeting with Pedro Sánchez and that, "besides financing," he has more issues to discuss such as "the 3.500 million euros for dependency and 1.000 million for healthcare services for displaced people" per year.

He will also tell Sánchez that he "owes" the Valencian Community "25 political cuts to the Tajo-Segura transfer," aid to ceramics, and the ecological flow of l'Albufera de València that "he promised and has withheld from us." The President of the Generalitat said that with Sánchez "I will talk about everything that the Valencian Community needs," but he will not negotiate.

Mazón emphasized that he believes in multilateralism to address financing and indicated that he does not need to hide or go "into any dark room of privileges to demand what corresponds to the Valencian Community," "nor seek to harm others."

"We are indeed capable of demanding every last cent of what is due by demonstrating that it is also good for Spain, not proving otherwise, a singular financing, a particular quota, a privilege against others," he remarked.

The regional leader assured that from the Valencian Community "we do not blackmail anyone because we do not want to be more than anyone." "Neither privileges over anyone but we will not tolerate being less than anyone for one more minute, nor one more cent," he added.
