The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has emphasized the Consell's commitment to "increase the external promotion of Valencian companies in the US to strengthen our position against the tariff challenge." He conveyed this during a meeting with representatives of Valencian companies established in New York and New Jersey.
Also participating were the Councillor for Innovation, Marián Cano; the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Spain in New York, Carlos Jiménez, and the Executive Director of the Spain US Chamber of Commerce in New York and Texas, Gemma Cortijo.
The head of the Consell advocated for "not abandoning our investment and growth capacity in the United States" and viewed the current context as "a transitional period that will make us stronger."
"The Valencian Community cannot give up the great growth expectations in this market," Mazón stated, highlighting that the Valencian productive network in the US "is ready to continue striving to expand its export capacity in the North American market" and they are "a driving force" for other companies from our region to establish themselves there.
Thus, he considered that strengthening the presence of the Valencian business network in the US "will place us in a competitive advantage against other countries and products" and referred to the "ambition" of our region and the companies of the Community in this regard.
In this sense, he emphasized that the quality and good positioning of Valencian products in North America, such as footwear, ceramics, and technology, will allow us to "withstand well and continue betting on this market."
The President stressed the Consell's support for intensifying the internationalization of Valencian companies in the US and commercial relations with this market through measures such as the IVACE+i International 2025 External Promotion Plan in collaboration with the main sectoral associations of the Valencian Community.
The meeting, attended by representatives of Valencian companies in New York and New Jersey from sectors such as food, healthcare, furniture, industrial machinery, tiles, construction, and consulting, among others, is part of the President's institutional mission to the US to understand firsthand the needs of our business network in this market and to accompany them in seeking support and specific measures according to their demands.
