The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, stated that the Consell still "does not know what happened to the €100 million" from the European Solidarity Fund for reconstruction after the storm, an advance disbursed by the European Commission to Spain at the end of March. "We do not know if the Government has received it and we do not know why it has not been transferred to us," he declared.

Mazón made these remarks in response to journalists' questions during a visit to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, regarding the weekend criticism from the PSPV leader and Minister of Science, Diana Morant, who claimed that Mazón "lies again by concealing that the Government of Spain has rescued him twice in the first three months of this year, with a billion in advances to pay the suppliers of the Valencian Community."

"I do not know what controversy the minister wants. What I reiterate is that all efforts are being made at a loss because we are not given anything," reiterated the PPCV president. He denounced that there is "no grant funding" for infrastructure and, according to him, none for health, education, or social services either.

He lamented: "All efforts are being made at a loss because the Government gives us nothing and we are doing it on credit." As an example, he indicated that "this access" he visited at the Cheste motorcycle circuit "has no contribution from the Government of Spain," just like "the 57 health centres" affected, the "damaged schools," or the roads destroyed by the storm. "This is the reality," he insisted.

Finally, Mazón defended that what he "simply" says "is that there are no grant funds for the inherent expenses of the Generalitat Valenciana's competencies," and that "there is no choice" but to state "the facts as they are."
