The Valencian Government is working on a regional employability map, a tool aimed at addressing the "training and service needs of companies and unemployed individuals in the Valencian Community." This was stated during his speech at the opening of the 'We Add Talent: Keys for Business Growth with Labora' event, organised by the Chamber of Commerce at the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (Marq).

This instrument will allow for "greater precision" and "alignment with reality" to "be useful in the goal of providing qualified personnel" to companies, stated the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón. The initiative "will serve to offer more and better training linked to the needs of the labour market."

In this regard, Mazón highlighted the Consell's administrative simplification plan, in a "real effort" to "eliminate bureaucratic fat" and "provide quick and effective responses demanded by business sectors and investment projects."

The lowest unemployment figure in 16 years

The Valencian Community has the lowest number of unemployed people in 16 years, with a decrease of over 10,000 unemployed individuals and a 2.5% increase in affiliation, according to data provided this Monday by the President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón. "These figures should encourage us to work hand in hand with the business fabric to generate employment opportunities, which bring wealth and progress," he added.

In this way, the head of the Consell advocated for "improving the service offered by Labora to make it more accessible, known, adjusted, and listening to the needs of each company to continue growing in job creation and talent attraction."

The regional employment service has increased the budget allocated to tailored training for companies by more than 150%. Last year, 114,000 people received completely free training in one of the 1,500 courses that Labora scheduled in 2024.

Regarding training, Mazón emphasised "the reform of vocational training (FP), with special attention to dual training so that for the first time a self-employed person can mentor a student at their facilities, democratising and spreading" this teaching modality.

Mazón also highlighted the Valencian Government's "support" for hiring young people, people with disabilities, or seniors who have been unemployed for some time, "with incentives of up to 30,000 euros to access the labour market." As he recalled, more than 15,000 companies benefited from this plan in 2024.
