President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has responded to statements made by the President of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, regarding his state during the storm that hit the province of Valencia on October 29. 'I was emotionally knocked out, without a doubt,' he confessed on Monday.

'I don't know how someone who has lost so many colleagues, so many fellow citizens, can feel,' he said, denouncing the actions of the left, specifically the PSPV and Compromís, who 'placed ads on social media to brand me a criminal.' According to Mazón, it was the members of both parties who 'stopped feeling that way from that very night.'

At the same time, the head of the Consell criticised the opposition groups in Les Corts for 'calling me all sorts of names,' when 'I have not insulted anyone, I have always responded and was the first to appear.' Regarding these actions, which also included two motions of no confidence in municipalities governed by the PP, and his emotional state, Mazón assured that the 'knockout' has not affected his work or his ability to take responsibility from the very first moment.

All these actions have gone 'in parallel' with the reconstruction, which 'is the only thing that interests and occupies me.' In this regard, the President of the Generalitat insists that 'when I make decisions, I think about the people who have their lives as they do. I can't think of any other way to approach it.'

Asked also about the Ventorro bill, due to the lunch he had with journalist Maribel Vilaplana, Mazón pointed out that 'the bills paid by the PP and all parties are processed to the Court of Auditors' and 'I am eager to do so.' He described this management as transparency, a practice he demands from other parties.

On this matter, he also referred to the calls he made and received during the night of the storm. Mazón reiterated that he will provide the information 'with transparency' and criticised other officials for the same. 'I would have liked to receive calls that I did not,' he said, alluding to the Government delegate, the message from the Prime Minister at eleven at night, or the Minister of Ecological Transition.

Mazón recalled that the Generalitat's forces took to the streets the day after the storm, on October 30. 'They were all there as far as they could reach' to work on the reconstruction of various infrastructures such as health and educational centres, as well as restoring collectors, treatment plants, and roads.
