Maxus is the first Chinese brand in the electric commercial vehicle segment, aiming to have over 20 electrified models by 2025.

Owned by SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, China's largest and the world's seventh-largest automaker, Maxus traces its roots back to the legendary British company Leyland Motors, renowned for manufacturing robust and durable commercial vehicles. Leyland Motors merged with the British Motor Corporation (BMC) to form British Motor Holdings (BMH).

Later, BMH's commercial vehicle division separated and became LDV (Leyland DAF Van), continuing the production of vans and commercial vehicles. In the early 21st century, the LDV brand was acquired by the Chinese automotive giant SAIC Motor.

The brand has expanded its presence in Spain with new models, including two diesel options and an electrified range.

Despite the growing demand for new mobility solutions, diesel remains a staple in the freight transport market, a technology that continues to be crucial for many companies due to its efficiency, range, and reliability.

Recognising this demand, Maxus has recently launched two new options to strengthen its market presence: the T60 MAX, a robust pickup designed for demanding tasks and tough terrains with a 158 kW (215 hp) direct injection diesel engine, all-wheel drive, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a payload of over one tonne, which can add an additional 3,500 kg with trailer and brake.

The Deliver 7 van is equipped with a powerful 2.0 turbo diesel engine of 108.5 kW (150 hp), front-wheel drive, a six-speed manual gearbox, and a maximum authorised mass of 3,500 kg (5,200 kg with trailer), ideal for medium and long-distance journeys with heavy loads. Both models are fully compatible with HVO-diesel fuel, meeting the EN 15940:2023 standard requirements.

However, environmental preservation and increasing urban regulations make a 100% electric vehicle offering essential.

Therefore, Maxus complements its commercial offering with a wide range of fully electric vehicles, including vans of various sizes, pickups, and even trucks, all designed especially for last-mile logistics. These models not only eliminate CO2 emissions but also reduce city noise, offer lower maintenance costs, and can access low-emission zones without restrictions.

Opting for sustainability does not mean giving up a variety of options. Each type of engine has its own market space and meets specific needs. While diesel remains the best choice for long journeys and large-capacity transport, electrification is key to optimising urban mobility and reducing the environmental footprint.

Finally, to provide better service to its customers, Maxus is opening a new dealership in the northern area of Madrid with Comercial Savher, located in Alcalá de Henares, featuring a modern and bright facility for sales and after-sales service with a total area of 1,400 m2. This opening will balance coverage in the Autonomous Community, complementing the existing dealership in the southern area, in Leganés, belonging to the Seligrat group, ensuring an equitable 50/50 distribution in the territory.
