Massive Use of Alicante Tram During Hogueras: Over Half a Million Passengers

Massive use of the Alicante Tram during Hogueras has exceeded half a million travellers in the five main days of the festivities, between June 20 and the early hours of the 25th. Initial estimates from Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana point to 500,186 users.

During these days, the service of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana in Alicante was uninterrupted, marking 120 consecutive hours of operations for the second time in its history.

Saturday the 21st, with 106,252 passengers, was the Hogueras day with the most trips made on the Tram network, followed by Sunday the 22nd with 101,524; Monday the 23rd, with 101,331; Tuesday the 24th, with 88,685; Friday the 20th, with 83,501 and the early hours of Wednesday the 25th, with 18,893 users, due to the Cremà. Thus, in three of the five days, more than 100,000 travellers were recorded.

Mercado was the most frequented station during the Alicante festivities, as it recorded 116,481 trips from June 20 to the early hours of the 25th. It was followed by Luceros station with 106,503 trips; Marq-Castillo in third, with 28,024; San Vicent del Raspeig in fourth, with 20,750; and Benidorm in fifth, with 13,815 trips.

Line 2 (Luceros-Sant Vicent del Raspeig) recorded 194,017 trips, followed by Line 1 (Luceros - Benidorm) with 94,608; Line 3 (Luceros - El Campello) with 88,360; Line 4 (Luceros- Plaza La Coruña) with 68,140; Line 9 (Benidorm-Dènia) with 30,340; and finally, Line 5 (Porta del Mar-Plaza la Coruña), with 24,721 users.
