Massiel Announces She Has Cancer

Massiel, the renowned Spanish singer, announced on Friday that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She shared this emotional revelation on the programme 'De viernes', unable to hold back tears, stating she is 'miraculously alive'. 'I've been through a lot, and surviving has been a tough battle,' the artist confessed.

After a period away from the public eye, Massiel has re-emerged to discuss the health challenge she faces. She also recounted how she has endured her battle with the illness. 'I started feeling very unwell and then I said, "I'm not well." They began conducting tests and, indeed, I had developed lung cancer,' the artist noted.

The first Spanish winner of Eurovision also explained in the interview that she had to undergo surgery and a treatment prescribed by doctors. 'They had to open me up and remove almost a lung,' she recounted, adding that she subsequently underwent chemotherapy. A treatment, she indicated, that left her 'feeling terrible'.
