The Mascletàs of Alicante's Hogueras Begin at Luceros: Pyrotechnics and Shooting Order

Alicante is now in Hogueras. After the arrival of the first ninots to the districts and the plantà of the official bonfire, the mascletàs will announce the arrival of the festivities to the city. The first shot will be this Wednesday, inaugurating the calendar.

The Plaza de los Luceros is all set to kick off the mascletàs competition of the Hogueras of Alicante. From June 18 to 24, the surroundings of the Bañuls fountain become the cathedral of gunpowder.

A total of seven pyrotechnics are participating in the contest. Several of them are already well-known in the city, such as Ferrández from Redován, the Ferrández Brothers from Beniel and Turis, as well as the Sirvent Brothers from Alicante.

The latter return to the official mascletàs competition of the Hogueras of Alicante after their last shot in 2023. During this edition of the contest, they will take to the square on June 24, putting the finishing touch to the grand day of the city's official festivities.

Another pyrotechnic returning to the Plaza de los Luceros is Crespo, who has not fired in the city for a quarter of a century, and does so to inaugurate the mascletàs competition. Additionally, there is the debut of Alto Palancia.

The mascletàs of the Hogueras of Alicante are held from June 18 to 24 at 2 PM in the Plaza de los Luceros. After three warning thunderclaps in the minutes prior, the belleas del foc will give the order to fire each day, thus starting the spectacle.

Residents and visitors can enjoy the mascletàs of the Hogueras from the four corners of Luceros: Avenida de la Estación, Paseo de Federico Soto, Avenida de Alfonso el Sabio, and Paseo del General Marvá.
