Mario Conde's visit to Alicante focused on criticising the Government and the separation of powers. The former president of Banesto opened the 2025 Conferences at the Business Club of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce. Conferences Circulars.

Held this Thursday at Finca Santa Lucia in Sant Joan, over a hundred entrepreneurs gathered to hear Conde, who was outspoken in criticising Spain's situation, stating, "I am worried because society is very agitated, and the basic pillars on which society is based are disintegrating."

Among his criticisms of the political class, the businessman harshly attacked the Government, stating, "The State is invading us, we have nothing left." Conde criticised that "we are witnessing a theft of identity" and "we do absolutely nothing, it is very difficult to change it."

Conde emphasised that Spanish society "is contaminated" and insists that to change this, "we must change the ways of thinking," referring to being more critical of the current Government and its political decisions.

The former leader and major shareholder of Banesto did not hold back words for politicians. Among his criticisms of the current political class, Conde asserted that "the political class has become increasingly inbred and has taken over the state, this inbreeding has led to the distancing of intelligence and the installation of mediocrity."

Indeed, the speaker made it clear that "the political class has expelled those who are worth it," referring to Macarena Olona, a former VOX politician who was present at the Chamber of Commerce conference.

Conde denounced that politicians "do not have a long-term vision, they plan for four years," referring to each general election, but also "in case they do not win, what they will do in four years."

The Separation of Powers

In his analysis of the current Spanish banking system, cryptocurrencies, and inflation, he also emphasised the separation of powers: "The separation of power is neither here nor expected," Conde reiterated several times, recounting that during his time as a Banesto executive, he knew that "the major decisions of this country were made in a power system that is not articulated."

"The three powers are not what they used to be," continued the businessman, who denounces that "each one goes its own way" and insists: "society is being invaded, one in two jobs are in the public sector" and assures that "soon we will be just a number."

Thus, the businessman assured that politicians "have taken over the power to print money and that is why cryptocurrencies have emerged" and also criticised the European Union: "The European Union is only there to regulate." All this was the result of a long conference attended by, among others, Enrique Ortiz, Luis Castillo, and Macarena Olona.
