María Jesús Moreno Appointed as New Secretary General of PSOE in San Vicente

María Jesús Moreno, previously the organisational secretary of the Socialist Party of San Vicente del Raspeig, has been elected as the new secretary general of the party. The joint candidacy with municipal spokesperson Asun Paris emerged victorious in the primaries held this Sunday, 29th June, securing the support of a majority of the membership with 60% of the votes. Meanwhile, the second candidate, councillor Eugenio Toledo, received 50 votes, accounting for 40% of the votes cast.

The Sunday session commenced at the PSOE headquarters in San Vicente with an intense debate regarding the management of the previous leadership under Asun París, a topic on which 55% of attendees expressed support. The newly elected secretary general, María Jesús Moreno, expressed gratitude to the membership for the high turnout and the support her candidacy received.

She also acknowledged the colleagues who chaired the voting session for their excellent work: "Everything proceeded with absolute normality. We are the present and the future. From this present, we begin working towards a future that will lead us to reclaim the mayoralty of San Vicente del Raspeig."

On his part, councillor Toledo also addressed the membership, thanking them for their participation "for making an exemplary democratic process possible."

Toledo expressed his gratitude, insisting that "my gratitude is the same as if I had won, because the important thing is that today we have strengthened our group with the commitment of everyone. As a representative of forty percent of the group, I will continue working, as always, with loyalty and respect, for the common good and for our party."
