Mayor of Elda, Rubén Alfaro, welcomed the new Chief Commissioner of the National Police in Elda, Manuel Nieto, on the morning of Tuesday, April 29. The meeting between the Elda mayor and the new head of the National Police in the city was also attended by the provincial chief commissioner of the National Police, Manuel Lafuente, and the Councillor for Citizen Security, Silvia Ibáñez.
During the meeting, issues related to citizen security and coordination between the various State Security Forces were discussed to enhance police effectiveness in the city of Elda.
Manuel Nieto, who replaces Bernardo Alonso, was born in Valencia in 1962 and arrives in Elda after his tenure as commissioner of the Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police in Almería. He holds a degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and a diploma in Police Sciences from the University of Salamanca.
He also brings extensive experience, having been part of the National Police since 1988, serving in Madrid, Benidorm, Alicante, and Almería. He has been awarded a police merit medal with a red badge and three medals with a white badge.
