We are accustomed to a reserved Malú who rarely shares details about her private life, and when she does, she tends to use metaphors or speak in general terms. This is why it has been quite surprising that the singer has opened up like never before about her struggles with food on Vicky Martín Berrocal's podcast, addressing a topic she had previously kept private. During the conversation, she confessed that from a young age, she has had a complicated relationship with food, marked by periods of restriction and control that affected her physical and emotional well-being.

Malú explained that the pressure from the industry and social expectations influenced her perception of her body, leading her into a cycle of guilt and self-demand that became increasingly difficult to manage over time. "It got quite out of hand," she admitted. "I covered it up. I refused to enter a centre, which could have been part of the solution, but it would have been a media scandal," she recalled. In fact, it was when she sought professional help to address her constant insomnia that she also found a way to improve her relationship with food. In the first consultation, she spoke about her insomnia and her difficulties with eating. After learning the details, the psychiatrist explained that although she had certain behaviours, she did not have anorexia. "You are not anorexic, you have behaviours, but you are not," she was told. "I went home and said: 'Hey, I'm not sick, nothing is wrong with me, it's over.' I continued in my routine of not weighing myself, and to this day," she expressed.

Now, she continues to work on improving her relationship with food, has managed to make peace with certain habits, and has learned to listen more to her body, becoming someone "more settled as a woman and as a person."
