Author Carmen Posadas returns to the Maestral literary evenings in Alicante to present her new book 'The Mysterious Case of the Titanic Impostor'. The author resurrects Emilia Pardo Bazán to investigate the story of a supposed cruise survivor. The event will take place this Friday at 8:30 PM.
This novel delves into the Titanic's sinking and its aftermath, depicted in multiple stories. One of them is about a passenger who assumes another identity to claim a millionaire inheritance.
Thus, with identity and deception as the protagonist, the new literary evening will feature a menu inspired by the plot to add flavour to the reading.
The Maestral kitchen team will offer a selection of individual starters such as breaded eggs and a Lent croquette with cuttlefish, a shrimp and prawn carpaccio accompanied by marinated anchovy, and classic pickled mussels.
As a first course, a Senegalese cream will be served - without horsefly, as the author wittily clarifies in her work; and the main course will be a red mullet fillet with Manchego ratatouille, followed by a dessert full of contrasts: a berry pavlova with Asturian carbayón and chocolate. The wine accompanying the evening is a Cesilia Blanc, titled 'House of the Two Towers'.
