Along the coast, temperatures will be milder, with 26 degrees in Benidorm and between 29 and 30 in places like Alicante, Dénia, or Jávea. However, the weekend is expected to register abnormal values for this time of year. MeteOrihuela points out that the peak of this heatwave will be this Saturday.

The State Meteorological Agency goes further, releasing predictions to determine how long this unusual heat will last into late May and early June. According to Aemet, it will cool down in northern Spain on Saturday, while the rest of the country will have to wait until Monday and Tuesday for a slight drop in temperatures.
However, temperatures are expected to rise again mid-week, once more exceeding 30 degrees in many parts of Alicante. Aemet's forecast indicates that the week of June 2 to 8 "will be warmer than usual, especially in the eastern half," which includes the Mediterranean basin.
The agency points to a rise in temperatures from Thursday, with little precipitation expected, although storms are anticipated in northern Spain. For the following two weeks, "temperatures are generally expected to be above normal for this time of year, suggesting intense heat across wide areas of Spain," Aemet notes.
