The Spanish women's volleyball team, known as the Lionesses, will return to Alicante three years later. It was in September 2022 when the national team defeated Denmark in a historic match that set a new attendance record for the Lionesses (nearly 5,000 spectators at Pedro Ferrándiz).

This time, Pascual Saorín's squad returns to Alicante (again to the also called Centre of Technification) as part of the European League and will play a triangular tournament on June 6, 7, and 8. The opponents in the competition are Sweden and Croatia, ensuring a spectacle in a region where volleyball is deeply rooted, and the fans' response is the best proof of it.

Spain will kick off on June 6 against Croatia at Pedro Ferrándiz at 19:00, while on June 8, they will close the competition against Sweden at 18:00. Meanwhile, Croatia and Sweden will face each other on June 7 at 18:00. Ticket prices will be announced in the coming days, along with the start of sales.

In addition to this triangular tournament of the Lionesses, the Spanish men's volleyball team will play a match at Pedro Ferrándiz on August 13 against Switzerland. This will be one of the first matches for Hubert Henno at the helm of the Red Lynxes.

The summer of 2025 will be unforgettable for all volleyball enthusiasts, as the Lionesses of Volleyball will be showcasing their skills from August 22 to September 7 against the world's best teams. Turkey, Bulgaria, and Canada will be the first opponents to beat in Thailand.

The Lionesses of Volleyball have learned their first opponents to beat in the 2025 World Championship. Grouped in Group E, Spain will face Turkey, Bulgaria, and Canada in the group stage of the World Cup.

The new edition of the World Championship, the first to be held biennially following the restructuring of international competitions by the FIVB, will take place in the cities of Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Phuket, and Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand).

Qualification for the World Championship comes thanks to the exceptional work of recent years, in which the Lionesses of Volleyball have maintained great performance, being persistent, showing their best level, with qualification for the last three European Championships and two bronze medals in the European Golden League, elevating the Spanish team to the 29th position in the world ranking.
