The Contracting Committee of the Alicante City Council has pre-awarded the contract for the supply, dismantling, and installation of luminaires to improve the lighting quality of the municipal exhibition hall at the Fish Market to Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones S.A. for 136,112 euros. The company was the sole bidder and, after verifying compliance with the requirements, the Contracting Committee has proposed it as the awardee.
This initiative is funded by the Next Generation Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan within the approved Tourist Sustainability Plans. The project is part of the energy efficiency axis 2, alongside improvements to the lighting at the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art (MACA) and other municipal spaces.
The replacement of luminaires with low-consumption ones specifically designed for museums will not only provide efficiency and energy savings but also enhance the overall lighting quality of the exhibited artworks.
The change in lighting will enhance the experience of visitors to the city's main museums, as well as the cultural infrastructures themselves, while also fulfilling the City Council's objective of improving the energy efficiency of municipal facilities.
In the case of the MACA, the improvement of the entire building's lighting was awarded at the end of September 2024 to Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones Eléctricas (SICE) for 350,642 euros.
