Her Majesty's Household released on Friday a glimpse into the daily life of Midshipman Borbón Ortiz aboard the Juan Sebastián de Elcano. Since January 11th, Princess Leonor, along with her 75 fellow cadets, has been engaging in daily tasks aligned with the various exercises outlined in their training as future members of the Spanish Navy.

During the voyage, the Princess of Asturias is recreating the images her father captured nearly four decades ago aboard this historic vessel. Princess Leonor can be seen climbing the masts, furling sails, using a sextant for positioning, and preparing and maintaining the ship before and after each port call, as well as living onboard, dining with her peers, attending lectures, and standing watch.

These are the first images of Princess Leonor aboard the ship since it departed from the Naval Base in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on January 23rd, heading towards Brazil on a three-week oceanic journey that will serve as training for her and her 76 fellow midshipmen, including the Princess of Asturias.

The Spanish Navy's training ship, which began its 97th training cruise from the port of Cádiz on January 11th, made stops in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and later in the capital of Gran Canaria, before continuing its route to Salvador de Bahía (Brazil), where it is expected to arrive after a 22-day Atlantic crossing.
