The president of the PNV, Andoni Ortuzar, and the party's spokesperson in Congress, Aitor Esteban, held a meeting this Thursday in Madrid with the Minister of the Presidency, Justice, and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, as part of the "regular relations" maintained between the Basque party and the Government. In this regard, PNV sources clarified that the meeting "has nothing to do with this week's recorded votes" in Congress.

The meeting between Ortuzar, Esteban, and Minister Bolaños took place in a hospitality establishment in Madrid, according to the same sources. They added that the meeting "is part of the normal relations" maintained between the Basque party and the central Government, as reported by Europa Press.

Furthermore, they specified that "meetings like this occur regularly throughout the year." In fact, this meeting "was agreed upon since July" and its date was set "a couple of weeks ago," insisted PNV sources.

In this regard, nationalist sources asserted that the meeting between the two PNV leaders and Bolaños "has nothing to do with this week's recorded votes in Congress." Among others, on Wednesday, the PNV voted in favor of a non-legislative proposal by the PP urging Pedro Sánchez's government to recognize opposition leader Edmundo González as the elected president of Venezuela.
