Intercity enjoyed a solitary lead in Group II of the Primera RFEF for many minutes. Everything was going smoothly for Sandroni's team with Ñito's first-half goal and solid defensive work in the second half.

However, just seconds before the final whistle, a good cross from the left wing by the red-and-white reserves resulted in a penalty and the expulsion of Intercity central defender Miki Codina.

Adrián Niño's shot was deftly deflected by local goalkeeper Samu Casado. Nevertheless, the rebound landed in the heart of the area for Luque to tap in easily, rendering the Intercity goalkeeper's great effort futile.

Immediately after this action, the referee blew the final whistle.

Intercity remains at the top of the standings with four points out of a possible six, but tied with four other teams: Alcorcón, Mérida, Ibiza, and Yeclano.

The Alicante team will play next Saturday at 9:30 PM at Rico Pérez Stadium against Hércules in what promises to be one of the most anticipated matches of the season.
