LaLiga Requests Injunctions to Prevent Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor from Playing for the Rest of the Season

LaLiga's 'Olmo case' saw new developments on Monday as the league filed a contentious-administrative appeal in ordinary court, seeking injunctions against the decision issued last Thursday by the Higher Sports Council (CSD), which again sided with Barcelona, allowing both Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor to continue playing for the remainder of the season.

LaLiga argues that the situation demands urgent judicial action "to ensure competitive balance and financial sustainability of the professional competition through the requested injunctions." The club association calls on ordinary courts to prohibit both Dani Olmo, currently injured, and Pau Víctor from playing.

The organisation led by Javier Tebas believes that the CSD's ruling, which upheld the appeal filed by Barça and the affected players, "severely violates the regulatory framework regarding economic control and the processing of sports licenses, undermines the general interest of the competition, and compromises its integrity by breaching the principle of equality among clubs."

LaLiga asserts that the CSD's resolution "is not in accordance with the law" and expresses surprise that this body made its decision public regarding Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor "almost three months after the appeal was filed, exhausting the maximum legal deadline."
