Human Mobility, a Spanish organisation and the third largest motorcycle operator (Kymco and Yadea) with 30 years of experience, has received the highest rating for transparency and rigour in the measurement of the Carbon Footprint, awarded by the Climate Action Observatory (OAC), a non-profit association of researchers committed to decarbonisation and sustainability in Spain.
During the 'Leadership in Climate Action in Spain' event, organised by the OAC and the Association of Former Parliamentarians, held this Friday at the Congress of Deputies, the "high performance" of Human Mobility was highlighted, standing out as the entity with the best rating among the 330 evaluations published by the OAC. Alongside Human Mobility, the OAC also recognises the City Council of Madrid and the Provincial Council of Malaga as leaders in climate action, among others.
Human Mobility was evaluated for the first time this year by the OAC and achieved a score of 9.6 points, the highest recorded to date. The OAC, which has been evaluating listed companies in the Ibex-35 and public organisations, launched in 2025 the first evaluation experience for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which undertake this task voluntarily.
This edition, included in the report 'Carbon Integrity Index. SMEs 2025', analysed a sample of 108 companies, the only ones in Spain to calculate the carbon footprint with the maximum possible scope (Scope 1, 2 and 3).
"It is important to highlight the high performance of Human Mobility SA (formerly KYMCO Mobility SA), whose score of 9.6 is the highest recorded to date. This result confirms that any organisation, regardless of size, can accurately and responsibly calculate and communicate its carbon footprint, actively contributing to climate action," OAC spokespersons stated this Friday.
Following this public recognition in the Constitutional Hall of the Congress of Deputies, before more than 200 personalities, entrepreneurs and researchers, the president of Human Mobility, Ernesto Ko, emphasised in his speech:
"It is an honour for us to receive this recognition for transparency and rigour and the leadership and exemplary role it bestows upon us. Our small contribution, which we have been making since 2019, is now an example not only for small and medium-sized enterprises but also for large entities."
"Our commitment to Sustainability begins with an exercise of transparency with ourselves and with society in general. From our honesty, we encourage other companies, particularly those in our two-wheel efficient mobility sector, as we believe it is a path that benefits the whole society," Ko highlighted.
The CIX index
Its methodology is detailed and independent, developed in collaboration with the Carbon Footprint Team of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
Its analysis does not focus on the volume of the carbon footprint, but on the quality, transparency and rigour of the reports, with the evaluation of 10 key indicators that give rise to the Carbon Integrity Index (CIX). The information undergoes a rigorous peer review process, where a third expert reviews the results and convenes the evaluators to discuss the final rating.
