The Kings returned to Valencia this Wednesday to hold a dual meeting with business leaders and associations to closely monitor the reconstruction efforts following the storm.
Felipe VI and Letizia, who arrived punctually at the headquarters of the Confederation of Businessmen of the Valencian Community (CEV) at 11:45, were greeted with cheers and applause from several groups of young people. They have been meeting with various representatives of the regional and national business sector since that time, before holding a meeting with social entities present in the area affected by the flood on October 29.
The monarchs arrived shortly after the President of the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazón, who went unnoticed by the public awaiting the arrival of Felipe and Letizia, and the Minister of Economy, Carlos Cuerpo, who was received by the President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations, Antonio Garamendi, and the President of the CEV, Salvador Navarro.
The head of state was the first to step out of the car and greet those waiting for his arrival behind the barriers. Shortly after, Letizia followed suit. Both crossed the street to approach the young people, who took selfies with the monarchs while celebrating a handshake from the Kings. A couple of minutes later, the representatives of the Royal House entered the CEV headquarters amid applause and ascended to the upper floor, where the day's dual meeting is taking place.
The presidents of the business associations were not the only business leaders attending the meeting currently being held by the monarchs with part of the business sector. Figures such as Vicente Boluda, President of the Valencian Business Association, and Manuel Espinar, President of the Business Confederation of Hospitality and Tourism of the Valencian Community (CONHOSTUR), were also present, among others.
Once the first meeting concludes, the Kings will hold a meeting with social entities such as the Spanish Association Against Cancer, Caritas, CERMI, Mental Health Confederation, Red Cross, European Network Against Poverty and Social Exclusion, FEDER, Children's Platform, Third Sector Platform, Volunteer Platform, and ONCE.
It is worth remembering that the first visit of the Kings to the ground zero of the storm occurred on November 3 in Paiporta, where incidents were recorded by several people who heckled them and threw mud. Since then, the monarchs have extended their hand to those affected and have visited the devastated municipalities on four more occasions prior to this Wednesday.
On November 12, Felipe returned to Valencia to visit the military units deployed in the Bétera area, and a week later, the Kings visited Chiva and Utiel, without any incidents. Furthermore, on December 9, both attended the funeral organized by the Archdiocese of Valencia in the city's cathedral in memory of the storm's mortal victims, and just before Christmas, on December 22, they returned with their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía.
Additionally, Felipe and Letizia have shown their support for the region on various occasions. The surprise visit to the Community's stand at Fitur 2025 was one of the many gestures of affection that the monarchs have had with the Valencian territory following the natural disaster.
