While the intimate photographs of King Juan Carlos at Bárbara Rey's house continue to make headlines, the emeritus monarch has chosen to continue his life as usual in Sanxenxo. On Monday, he participated in the first test of the Xacobeo Trophy aboard the Bribón and managed to finish in first place. The monarch was more than satisfied and recorded a video in which he announced: "I am very happy to say that we finished first; it was very complicated and we will see if we can maintain first place."
Meanwhile, in press, radio and television, debates about the alleged blackmail and alleged million-dollar payments made to Bárbara Rey over the years to keep her affair with Felipe VI's father secret continued to make headlines. This had already been announced by the vedette's son, Ángel Cristo, when in his last intervention on 'De Viernes' he pointed out that this was only the beginning. "I will die calmly because Spain will know what happened," he assured, announcing that he plans to continue "until the end." For now, this Wednesday there will be a new special on Mediaset's program: '¡De Viernes!: History of a blackmail.'
King Juan Carlos has not commented on the scandal he is involved in, although his entourage has conveyed his displeasure. In addition, journalist Leticia Requejo reported on 'TardeAr' that the monarch had contacted Bárbara Rey through third parties to let her know that "Don Juan Carlos is very hurt, very upset and very annoyed with everything Ángel Cristo is doing; and the emeritus also considers that there are only two victims in all this: himself and Bárbara Rey." Requejo also announced that Sofía Cristo's mother plans to meet with her lawyers in Madrid at the end of this week to start a new legal process against her son.
