José Elías Mera's candidacy has emerged victorious in the elections for the board of directors of GANVAM, the automotive distribution employers' association in Spain. After counting the postal votes, Mera's list received 55.8% of the support.
This list, which will appoint the president of the association from among its members, triumphed over the candidacies led by Manuel Sánchez and Alfonso Jurado, who obtained 24.4% and 19.9% of the support, respectively.
Specifically, out of the 323 votes counted, 180 votes were for the candidacy led by José Elías Mera, while 79 supported Manuel Sánchez's and 64 supported Alfonso Jurado's. No null or blank votes were recorded.
According to the president of the electoral committee, Raúl Vaquero, "once the in-person voting at GANVAM's headquarters was closed, the postal vote was introduced into the ballot box and counted before a notary. I would like to thank everyone for participating in a process marked by transparency, the absence of incidents, and highlight the exemplary behaviour of both the voters and the members of the different candidacies."
Thus, the candidacy led by Mera will proceed to appoint the president of the association from among its members to lead the National Association of Vehicle Sellers, Repair and Spare Parts. It is the oldest and most representative employers' association in the automotive distribution sector in Spain.
