"Eleven years ago, I was given the most incredible opportunity: to write a chapter in a story that is now 179 years old," designer Jonathan Anderson began in a statement confirming rumours of his departure from the Spanish luxury brand Loewe.

"From my very first day at Loewe, I found kindred spirits in the design studio and workshop, whose talents were, and remain, unparalleled. Thank you for sharing your artistry. Over these eleven years, I've been fortunate to be surrounded by people with the imagination, skill, tenacity, and creativity needed to find ways to say 'yes' to all my most ambitious ideas," Anderson continued, adding, "Looking back, I've realised that a brand isn't built with the first show, nor even the first year of shows, but gradually, season after season, year after year, based on what's right for the brand."

"One of the achievements I'm most proud of is launching the Craft Prize. We created a platform that genuinely supports and brings visibility to endangered crafts, young creators, established masters, and new ideas. I'd like to thank the Foundation team, jury members, and expert panel for their time and dedication," he stated.

"From day one, I envisioned creating a cultural brand. This idea relied heavily on the trust and generosity of many artists, artisans, heritage organisations, foundations, museums, and galleries who contributed their work. I'm sincerely grateful to all of them," Anderson commented on his numerous successful collaborations.

"Thank you to everyone who supported me and my vision, and to all those who made each show possible. To those who appeared in campaigns, wrote articles, bought products, or simply liked a post: you've made all this possible," he wrote, concluding, "They say all good things must come to an end, but I disagree. Although my own chapter is closing, Loewe's story will continue for many more years, and I will watch it with pride."
