Jenni Hermoso and Montse Tomé's clash is intensifying. After the Spanish coach left the Tigres forward out of the squad for the Women's Euro Cup to be held from July 2 to 27 in Switzerland and urged her to manage her anger, the Madrid striker has spoken out on social media to escalate the confrontation. "She should focus on making Spain European champions, although they could do it alone and probably much better," the player wrote.

"Honestly, I also have a very clear conscience, especially when I distance myself from environments with such negative energy. Manage? That's what others should learn to do, as that part is too big for them," stated Jenni Hermoso in a message posted on her social media account 'X' (formerly Twitter), where she does not mention Montse Tomé by name but clearly addresses the Oviedo coach.

This all follows the Asturian coach's interview on Tuesday with the program 'El Larguero' on Cadena Ser, where she insisted she had "a clear conscience" regarding the presences and absences on the list of 23 players she announced for the Euro Cup. She referred to a previous message from Jenni Hermoso on social media, saying, "I understand she is upset about not being called up when she feels she should be," Tomé said, adding that Jenni Hermoso "needs to manage" her anger.

"Manage? That's what others should learn to do, as that part is too big for them," replied Jenni Hermoso, who claims she had to resort to social media to respond to Montse Tomé because it is "the only way" the Oviedo coach has left "to maintain a 'conversation'."

She thus throws a sharp jab at a coach who has not included Jenni Hermoso in any squad since the trial over the non-consensual kiss given to her by the former president of the Spanish Football Federation (FEF), Luis Rubiales, at the end of the 2023 Women's World Cup final held at Stadium Australia in Sydney.

"There is a lot of competition, and it's difficult. Therefore, we decided to include other players who could perform better in her position," Montse Tomé said on Tuesday regarding Jenni Hermoso's absence from the European Championship squad. "Before announcing the Euro Cup list, I didn't call her. Jenni Hermoso's case is special. I know the FEF has contacted her," added the coach, emphasizing that she focuses solely on the sporting aspect. "I convey the information, and since our president wants to promote women's football and work well in it, fortunately, I have other people above me who can handle that task, and I have done my job from the most sporting side," she specified.
