Created in 1941, the original Jeep was not intended as a civilian vehicle. Its design and versatility were the result of a public competition promoted in 1941 by the United States Department of Defense to design a quarter-ton multi-purpose vehicle with very strict specifications. The result was the "General Purpose Vehicle," better known by its initials Jeep MB, developed by Willys Overland.

The Jeep was a great success as a military vehicle. Designed to transport troops, its versatility made it a command vehicle, ambulance, rocket launcher support, snowplow, or artillery piece tow with outstanding performance.

After the end of World War II, millions of soldiers returned to the United States and spread the fame of this robust vehicle with surprising capabilities.

There was anticipation to try this vehicle, and its first civilian version would not be long in coming. In 1945, months after the end of the conflict, the Jeep CJ-2 hit American roads, with the challenge of proving the practicality, off-road character, and robustness demonstrated in the Army to the complexity of civilian life. The concept showed a new level of versatility and adaptability with innovations such as a rear cargo space, trailer, and fabric roof, while maintaining its Spartan spirit. The military khaki was replaced by bright color combinations like bright green, yellow, or red.

Initially intended to meet the needs of American farmers, the Jeep CJ managed to convince a very diverse clientele that kept it in the brand's catalog for four decades. Today, the Jeep Wrangler is the best heir to its versatile and off-road spirit.

These were the first steps of the Jeep concept, a symbol of freedom, adventure, authenticity, and passion worldwide. It also marked the innovative drive from which, back in 1949, the fashionable SUV segment in the automobile industry was born with the launch of the Willys Wagon. A true example of versatility, capable of carrying seven passengers comfortably, transporting loads, and even tackling the most challenging trails, thanks to its four-wheel drive.

Since its inception, the brand has been synonymous with durability and capability, offering vehicles that have accompanied generations of adventurers. Among the most iconic models that have defined Jeep's trajectory is the Wagoneer, introduced in 1963, which set the SUV standard with a focus on comfort and luxury. This vision continues with the new generation of Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, commercially launched in 2022 in the American market.

In 1992, the Grand Cherokee arrived to revolutionize the market with its modern design, advanced features, and a focus on performance both on and off the road. This model has been fundamental in establishing Jeep as one of the leading SUV brands in the world. The Grand Cherokee saga continues with the fifth generation of this model. It features 4xe hybrid versions with 380 horsepower combined power and 637 Nm of torque, up to 51 km of electric range in urban areas, and three driving modes: hybrid, electric, and e-save.

More recently, Jeep has welcomed the Avenger, a model that reflects the transition towards sustainable mobility, offering a fully electric SUV that combines the brand's tradition with a greener future. Designed and manufactured in the Old Continent, it is aimed at an active clientele seeking a fresh and attractive vehicle, with perfect dimensions for the city, equipped with advanced technologies, with a spacious and well-utilized interior that is also a robust and reliable adventure companion.
