Javi Moreno pushes Hércules to their seventeenth defeat in a dismal season finale at Rico Pérez (2-3)

Once upon a time... Hércules' first season in the Primera Federación has come to an end. The Alicante team bid farewell to their fans this Saturday with yet another defeat. This time against Sanluqueño, who secured their place in the league after defeating the home team 2-3.

Hércules concluded the league with 17 defeats, five of which came in the last six matches, and four consecutively. This disappointing streak has left a bitter taste and raises doubts about the project's continuity next season.

The players and coaching staff are heading off on holiday, and many are uncertain if they will don the jersey again. Even the coach, Rubén Torrecilla, is not guaranteed to stay despite having another year on his contract.

The Hércules coach, who turned 46 this Saturday, couldn't celebrate with a victory. Javi Moreno's red card for kicking an opponent off the ball left the team a man down for over an hour. "These actions anger me; it's something he must learn from as it severely harmed his teammates," Torrecilla remarked.

The team made a significant effort and even took the lead early in the second half with a header from Josema following an excellently delivered corner by Álvaro García.

But Sanluqueño's survival depended on this match. They needed a win to ensure their stay and seized the opportunity. An own goal by Samu Vázquez from a free-kick paved the way for the Cádiz team, who secured their survival on the final day for the second consecutive year.

Goals from Colau and Sofiane sealed the match, although Hércules, with youth players Nico Espinosa, Galvañ, and Abdul, pressed and reduced the deficit in injury time. Soldevila increased his goal tally with a brilliant move down the left by Nico.

In the end, the victory went to Sanluqueño. Yeclano and Alcoyano are the teams that will join Intercity, Recreativo de Huelva, and Fuenlabrada on their way to the 2nd RFEF.
