Spain is in a truly complicated situation, especially after the UCO report describing an alleged criminal organisation within the PSOE, the ruling party. The day after this bombshell, which could potentially disrupt the legislature, former Vox MP and now consultant Iván Espinosa de los Monteros arrived in Alicante to bring "solutions" for Spain, as his book suggests, and a touch of encouragement to move forward. The first conclusion is that the country can be trusted for one reason: "Pedro Sánchez is not in the future."

Espinosa de los Monteros addressed over a hundred business leaders gathered at the Cámara Business Club of the Alicante Chamber of Commerce. He was not lenient, urging the business elites to "take on a bit more responsibility than usual" and "not leave public affairs in the hands of politicians" because "the main threat is politics."

The former Vox spokesperson encouraged entrepreneurs to fight the cultural battle in all areas, from the streets to marketing and the political class itself "to press the right button." He considers it essential to "engage in correcting Spain's course" among those who create wealth and employment.

The situation is not easy, Espinosa de los Monteros explained. "We are at the worst moral and socio-political moment of the last 20 years," which he linked to economic stagnation resulting from regressive policies towards entrepreneurship. A staunch supporter of liberal ideas, Espinosa de los Monteros announced in Alicante the creation of a foundation or think tank dedicated to defending "the right ideas that have made the West the best place in the world to live."

Based on the analysis of the current situation, the former MP foresees "months of institutional agony" for the socialist government, not a resignation or imminent election call. Quite the opposite of what should happen because Pedro Sánchez "cannot continue another day without damaging the country's image."

From there, "the solution will not come from politics," but from civil society, especially from entrepreneurs. The enemies: "Statism and ignorance." The solution, in his book. But in a 'spoiler', Espinosa de los Monteros advocates for "reviving the middle class, dismantled in recent years," and an investment plan in infrastructure, especially energy, to make Spain a world leader in data centres, given its geographical position. "Artificial intelligence is the greatest revolution in human history," he firmly believes, "and we only see the tip of the iceberg."
