This Monday, 'The Island of Temptations', which seems to have no ceiling, once again triumphed with the reunion of Montoya and Anita. After already celebrating the finales, where the show scored 22%, it now marks a remarkable 26.9% in prime time with its first reunion '3 months later', gathering a total of 2.21 million viewers around the television, while the preceding 'Express' was not far behind, with a 17.4% share and 2.44 million viewers. The show, nearing the end of its eighth season, thus experiences its best night since March 2021, when the third season was celebrated.
The truth is that the fantastic performance of this new edition of the contest was entirely unexpected. Five words – "You've shattered me inside!" – and a run along the beach, which José Carlos Montoya (Seville, 1993) took upon seeing that his girlfriend Anita Williams had been unfaithful with her tempter, Manuel, are largely to blame, as the sequence went viral – even crossing the Atlantic – and captivated those who had not yet been drawn in by this new installment.
This Tuesday, Telecinco celebrated the good ratings with a statement noting that in the tally of its 16 broadcasts on Mondays and Wednesdays, 'The Island of Temptations' (16.8% and 1,586,000) has emerged as the prime time programme with the best share and most viewed of the season. All this while two episodes remain to be aired: the face-off between Alba and Gerard and Tadeo Sthefany, airing today from 22:00, and the final debate. Moreover, the story between Anita and Montoya will continue in the new edition of 'Survivors', already on air.
