Police are investigating a possible burglary that occurred over the weekend at the home of Koldo García's mother, a former advisor to ex-minister José Luis Ábalos. The residence is located just a few meters from Levante Beach in Benidorm.
According to sources close to the investigation, the woman discovered the alleged burglary upon returning to her home on Sunday afternoon, at which point she alerted the authorities. Upon entering the residence, she found the interior in disarray and noticed several belongings missing.
On Monday morning, forensic officers were dispatched to the property to conduct a more thorough inspection in search of fingerprints or clues that might identify the perpetrators.
Police sources have confirmed that the woman has filed a formal complaint and that among the stolen items were approximately 200 euros in cash and some jewellery.
The national police have indicated that, for now, it appears to be a common burglary, unrelated to the alleged corruption case involving her son. Initial hypotheses suggest that the burglars may have gained entry using the slip technique, taking advantage of the door not being locked. The investigation remains open, and further inquiries are not ruled out in the coming days.
The complaint coincides with the day another alleged corrupt figure, Santos Cerdán, testified before the Supreme Court. Judge Leopoldo Puente ordered the provisional detention without bail of Santos Cerdán on Monday.
At the request of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor, the investigating judge of the so-called 'Koldo case' has decided that the former PSOE Organization Secretary should be imprisoned due to the "high risk" of flight and evidence destruction following the hearing after his testimony, in which he denied the allegations. The magistrate charges him with crimes of involvement in a criminal organization, bribery, and influence peddling.
