Inter has crashed for the third time this week. The latest defeat for Inzaghi's side occurred at San Siro against Roma. A 0-1 result painted a disappointing picture of Barcelona's semi-final opponent in the Champions League. The Roman team was superior and had the clearest chances of the match. An unrecognizable Inter, both in terms of play and physicality, could not respond to Matías Soulé's goal 22 minutes into the game.

Inzaghi made hardly any rotations from what could be the starting eleven for Wednesday's crucial Serie A match. The suspended Bastoni and the injured Thuram were the only notable absences. This defeat is the second consecutive one and has drastic consequences, as Napoli now depends on itself to clinch the league title. Additionally, Inter faces a much tougher schedule than its Italian rival.

Adding to this drama, Inter was a contender for the treble just four days ago, and after the harsh defeat against Milan in the Cup and the current situation, they are in an extremely difficult position to win any trophy. The only hopeful aspect for Inzaghi ahead of Wednesday is that their opponent, Barcelona, will arrive after a grueling extra time against Real Madrid, and the Catalans may not be in their best physical condition.

Barcelona is the team to beat in Europe, and if Inter wants to reach the final in Munich, they will need to play as they did against Bayern, that is, focused for the full 180 minutes with their players' minds and bodies in the right place. Only on Wednesday, in the first leg at Montjuic, will it be seen which version of Inter takes the field—the one that has been dominant in Italy and Europe this season, or the one that has had such a disastrous week for their interests.
