Two secondary education centres (IES) in the province of Alicante will become Integrated Vocational Training Centres (CIPFP) for the 2025-2026 academic year, meaning their educational offerings will be entirely focused on vocational training. These are the IES Leonardo da Vinci in the Northern Zone of Alicante, which will be renamed CIPFP Leonardo Da Vinci, and the IES El Palmeral in Orihuela, which will be renamed CIPFP El Palmeral. With this change, the province will have eight CIFP, part of the 22 total in the entire Valencian Community.
Additionally, the Department of Education plans to expand the map of integrated centres in the province of Alicante with the construction of a new Integrated Centre in Torrevieja, which will complete the vocational training offer in the Vega Baja area in the coming years.
This transformation responds to a historical demand from these municipalities, after studying the demand for students, the needs of the local business fabric, economic resources, and costs among others, according to the Department of Education.
"The CIFP help the population decide which training paths are most interesting in each case, and stand out for their connection with companies, focusing on responding to the qualification needs of the companies in their productive environment," according to Education.
