The legacy of Abarth is prominent in the exterior design of the new Abarth 600e, thanks to a blend of modern design interwoven with early choices.

Driven by history and passion, the new Abarth 600e is the purest expression of Abarth's new design language, a visual translation of performance. It is no coincidence that some design choices made in this vehicle reflect past intuitions that gave rise to some of the brand's most successful cars, paying homage to this legacy while looking to the future.

Here, two worlds combine, representing both the origins of the Scorpion brand and the world of video games with the reinterpretation of the stripes and scorpion theme that debuted in the Abarth 500e, as a brand identifier, contributing to its electric shift towards the electric era.

Indeed, the electrified Scorpion remains the undisputed protagonist of the brand's vehicles along with the stripe pattern, enriching some of the external points around the car: besides the logos on the fenders and the Abarth badge on the hood, the beloved yet threatening symbol appears on the center line, engraved on the black surfaces of the front and rear bumpers and the spoiler.

Another leap into the past is the contemporary reinterpretation of the brutally square large volume of the front radiator of the Abarth 850 TC, the so-called "cassettone". The Abarth 850 TC is the first car with the "Turismo Competizione" Scorpion emblem, a serene family car transformed into an agile, light, and fast racing vehicle that has conquered numerous European competitions, with an astonishing record of 51 victories in 53 races. Square and slightly brutal, the bumper of the Abarth 600e helps give the car a sporty look and a strong emotional impact.

The new Abarth 600e also pays homage to Carlo Abarth's intuition, who foresaw the dual functionality of the open trunk, which improved, by dissipating heat, cooling and aerodynamic performance. Carlo Abarth's visionary resin spoiler gave rise to the Abarth "wing", a feature now highlighted in many of Abarth's successful vehicles. The spoiler of the Abarth 600e was developed by splitting the airflow in two to improve the car's resistance and, to always provide excellent performance, Abarth's designers studied and tested the square shapes of the aerodynamic spoiler and bumper extractor several times in the special wind tunnel.

In addition to past influences, a second theme comes into play to enrich the new design language of the Abarth 600e. Inspired by the digital and gaming world, the square geometry is reinforced by strong graphics with inclined lines, engraved on the surfaces that become a grid in the air intake. To exalt the resulting effect, Abarth's designers made this logic of shape and processing also appear on the rear bumper.

For the bold exterior design, the Scorpion brand focused on four main elements that make the new Abarth 600e the representation of Abarth's performance: the front and rear bumpers, the spoiler, and the wheels. At the front, aerodynamic and cooling performance is enhanced by pushing the profile forward, resulting in the "shark nose effect" that adds extra flavor, while the volume stands out thanks to a unique bumper and the three-dimensional inscription of Abarth. Additionally, together with the Motorsport team, the designers endowed the car with a low configuration and a large track with an additional 30 mm at the front and 25 mm at the rear, reinforcing the external appearance.

The last of the main elements, the 20-inch diamond alloy wheels, is primarily built around three parts: a solid yet lightweight internal structure reminiscent of the car's body; the sting represents an aerodynamic function and inspires the external graphics and, lastly, the mono-bolt effect that recalls the racing world.

Altogether, the car boasts a bold design with elements that emphasize its aggressiveness, such as the specific bezel of the rear lights, the coffered-inspired shape, and the black mirror housings and handles that contrast with the exciting colors of the Scorpionissima: Acid Green, as a reference to the antidote color, and the exclusive Hypnotic Purple, inspired by the post-sting hypnotic effect.

The sporty soul of the Abarth 600e from the interior design

As attractive as the exterior, the interiors consolidate the high qualifications of Abarth's designers. With the contribution of the ergonomics team, a great design effort was made on the seat, instrumentation, and steering wheel of the Abarth 600e Sabelt, which pays homage to the two-spoke steering wheel traditionally found in racing vehicles like the Abarth 131 Rally.

All these elements make the vision perfectly aligned, a feature that is key for any sports car, as it facilitates the connection between man and vehicles, and have been designed and manufactured specifically to embody, contain, and elevate the perception of sportiness. In particular, the Abarth 600e features a sports steering wheel with perforated leather and Alcantara inserts, both at the top and bottom, to achieve additional sportiness and maximize grip, and a special visor on the steering wheel at 12 o'clock. Transmitting and preserving the vehicle's lightness are the same elements that have made racing history.

Recapturing the Scorpion vibes and the lightness of the majestic alloy wheels, the Scorpionissima Sabelt racing seats showcase electro-welded Alcantara with a distinctive and exclusive Scorpionflage design. This aggressive perforated configuration with an integrated headrest aims to express a Racing connotation and conveys agility with the fragmented style of the wheels and holes while bringing the strength of the scorpion. The idea is to contrast full and empty, as the structure is light, maintaining good comfort and lateral containment.

The configuration of the second seat, available in the Abarth 600e Turismo, maintains a clear reference to the brand's heritage thanks to the integrated headrest at the rear. Additionally, here the seat fabric texture is adorned by a stripe graphic pattern, inspired by the gaming world and already present in other parts of the vehicle.

The dark theme of the interior is achieved through elements such as the black A, B, and C pillars, roof linings, roof, and trims. To maintain a contrasting effect, these are exalted with color details like the stitching or the appealing Scorpion on the steering wheel that further enhances the driving excitement. The new design language expresses its innovative and sporty essence through specific choices that enrich the environment: dedicated seats, aluminum-clad pedals, footrests, and floor mats.

To maximize the vehicle's freshness, the gaming effect enriches the user experience, also evident in the instrument panel when projected outward. Additionally, the internal aspect features some additional characteristics such as the Abarth protective plate, the 18cm or 7-inch color TFT with specific Abarth graphics and sounds, the tunnel pad cover, which, like the ambient light on the driver's left side and the matte black dashboard fascia with its glossy black screen printing, will only be available with the Scorpionissima.

The design of the new Abarth 600e can be defined as timeless, as it merges legacy with innovation, expressing the perfect balance between the Scorpion brand's devotion to its roots and its forward-looking vision.
