The Ministry of Industry and Tourism and the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac) have signed a collaboration agreement to launch the 'Spain Auto 2030 Project'.
This initiative, with a total budget of 380,000 euros, aims to define a clear roadmap and offer concrete solutions for the Spanish automotive industry to adapt and thrive in the face of new mobility challenges.
The goal is to conduct a thorough strategic reflection and a detailed analysis of the current context of the national automobile industry and its value chain.
This includes evaluating its present situation and projecting future trends, covering everything from electrification and connectivity to sustainability and new regulations.
The project's funding will be jointly undertaken, with significant contributions from both parties. The Ministry of Industry and Tourism will contribute 130,000 euros, of which 100,000 euros will be in cash and 30,000 euros in kind. Meanwhile, Anfac will bear the bulk of the funding with 250,000 euros, distributed as 203,000 euros in cash and 47,000 euros in kind.
This agreement establishes a fundamental framework of collaboration between the public sector and private industry, combining knowledge and resources to achieve a project considered vital for Spain's competitiveness in the global automotive landscape. Both parties have committed to complying with all applicable legal regulations and the highest ethical standards during the project's execution.
The 'Spain Auto 2030 Project' will be in effect until December 31, 2025, with no possibility of extension, highlighting the urgency and determination to establish a defined strategy within a specific timeframe to address the transformation the automotive industry is undergoing worldwide.
