Inauguration of the 'Mediterranean League of Debate and Oratory'

La Asociación Valenciana de Debate y Oratoria (Avdyo), presidida por el alicantino Andreu Real, ha organizado la primera 'Liga Mediterránea de debate y oratoria', que se pondrá en marcha durante el próximo curso 2025-26 y «marcará el rumbo de esta disciplina en el sureste de España».

The clubs in the region will participate in this event, having the opportunity to compete against each other to "prove who is the best on the coast and who is the best speaker," as explained by the regional entity.

The competition is co-organised by the debate clubs La Tribuna and ESIC, with the city of Valencia hosting the launch of the competition.

The 'Mediterranean League' will consist of several meetings along the Mediterranean coast, where "the best clubs in the region" will face off. Each meeting will last two days, and simultaneously, a debate tournament and an oratory tournament will be held.

Avdyo explains that "this initiative is an opportunity for all students in the region to test themselves, both novices and veterans, to break barriers, overcome fears, and encourage communication and critical thinking among the youth of the Mediterranean."
